3. Look for the HCS label. The initials “HCS” that you will find on the labels of cosmetics stand for “Humane Cosmetic Standard.” It means that no animals were used in testing the product. So, you can be assured that you are not patronizing companies that have been cruel to animals in manufacturing their products.
