Protect Yourself with Windows Firewall
Aside from the third party programs that you can buy to protect yourself from all types of vulnerability, there is a built-in protection on your windows which is called Windows firewall that could protect you. Windows firewall enables protection from hackers on your network or your computers in a network. Also, this has the security log that records IP addresses and other data relating to internet access. This enables you to track all the connections either successful or not.
This feature was first included in Windows XP version Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2003, although prior to these windows, firewall was called Internet Connection Firewall. Windows firewall is a response of Microsoft to the need that arose during the 2003 Blaster and Sasser worms’ attacks.
This feature in windows is already incorporated in the group policy. This enables network- wide setting configuration.
