What you can do is, you can create a different user account which is password protected, so other people would not have access to them. You can make an admin account where you can have the admin privileges and provide a setting wherein other users could not have access to your account. This would protect your data.

Deleting does not necessarily dispose of your data and other sensitive information. All your information could be vulnerable to theft and could be used against you or your corporate organization. Also, viruses could damage your files, delete your files, and corrupt your hard drive in general. So, always scan for viruses and spyware. This ensures that all your files are protected.
